Memorial day weekend movies
After watching Revenge of the sith on opening night (or morning - 12 AM) we decided to watch the older episodes IV-VI. We started watching The Empire Strikes Back (episode V) on Saturday and finished watching it today. It is a good film, perhaps the best of all of them. Harrison Ford is definitely in his prime and Carrie Fisher plays princess Leia as only she could. The scenes in the icy planet (filmed in Norway) are awesome and we finally get introduced to Yoda. The odd thing about this is that Yoda is not as they’ve prtayed him in the most recent films; powerful, quick to thinking and a force to be reckoned with. He is still wise but annoying (rummaging though Luke’s knapsack), weak (heavily dependent on his walking cane) and tired (having to sit down frequently). Reading through IMDB, I came across the fact that George Lucas did not direct any of these films (episodes IV-VI) but he did direct all of the recent ones (episodes I-III). His film school teacher directed Empire Strikes Back, amazing info.
Im getting ready to go to Publix to buy some flank steak to grill and some plantains to make tostones, I can hardly wait…
